Good to see a new release, downloading it right now, I will play it as soon as I get back from my shower. What is it exactly, a map ? a mini-mod ?

But you thanked Eddy for helping you with CONs, so surely it's more than a map.

Why don't you post a few screenshots and give us a real description?

It's a weird map with some heavy Pain-influences.

Completed it, it was actually pretty good. The design was nicely done, with the exception of a couple of minor bugs (one of the doors didn't work properly, some rockish sectors around the level should have been blocked to prevent the player from getting squished, and some monsters got squished in the triangle-shaped shadow sectors too), I really liked the overall vibe of the map, and the music is one of the coolest midis I've ever heard in a Duke map. I usually don't like new textures and sounds but the ones you used worked perfectly and fell into place, creating a solid atmosphere. You've improved your shading skills a lot too. A rather solid release, good job Thumbs up

Good, and rather original map (despite the obvious influences from Pain).

The only thing I think didn't fit was the music: in itself it was a good music, but it was soothing, while the atmosphere of the map is more spooky, scary.

Nice map, Sanek. You are getting your own style in mapping - dream levels. Now you just have to improve it more and more and then, who knows what kind of superb levels we´ll see in the future. Good work.

Mikko didn't post it, but in case you didn't see it, it's been reviewed on MSDN.

But yeah, come on people, try this project out, it's a pretty solid release

I played it. I don't know if the new art was necessary. It only reminded me that blood is a much more scary game than duke, however a few moments were pretty interesting. Sometimes I couldn't find a way and so I cheated a bit but overall it was fun map to play. Definately Sanek has made much inmprovement when it comes to his mapping skills Wink

Just played it - it's solid  indeed. The shadows and lightning were great. The heavy pain influences were a little too obvious at places and one location really looked a little too much like bobdm1. It's not too bad, just a little unoriginal. Just be sure to develop your own style from here. This is a good starting place and you're improving quite fast.

Another thing - I thought the fog illusion was pretty much ruined by the black sky, it made me see the outlines and the shape of the area I was in (in one case it was just a big square).  This took away a lot from the atmosphere and the suspense IMO.
Just be sure to make the ceiling foggy as well next time.

My favorite area was the blue part - the shrinker puzzle was well executed and the atmosphere was great. The new sounds fitted right in and I also liked how the liztroops were green demons.

You didn't just remove your previous post and post it again to bump the topic?
