Eerie, nice little map. Design and details were nothing special, but gameplay was fun, even entertaining, thanks to it´s atmosphere, great use of sounds, good textures (some of them ripped from other games) and some little surprises... I actually frightened (that is quite rare in Duke3D) when the first ghost appeared. However, the main problem was that it was over too soon and quite repeatitive at times, especially in the corridors. There could have been some kind of storyline to follow, which could have created the atmosphere more interesting. Overall, great map including great atmosphere and nice experience for a while.

Why release it in such a state when you could spend some more time on it and make it much better?

I actually frightened (that is quite rare in Duke3D) when the first ghost appeared.

Have you played my older map Rural Nightmare ? This is where he got the effect from, and it made a lot of people jump on their chair back then as well

speaking of which, I just played the map, and I think it has the same flaw as my own Rural Nightmare - it's moody and interesting (I liked that), but the gameplay itself is a bit dull, because you basically made four corridors (that reminded of Scooby Doo haha), filled them with sounds and there is a room with five enemies at the end (and you don't even get the innovation points). It's a shame, because with these new textures and these sounds, you could probably have made a much more epic, ambitious, longer level if you had put in more effort, at least into the layout. Basically building and releasing it like that made for a waste of potential in my opinion

Your mapping is improving nonetheless, and now at least your work is worth being checked out. If I had two tips to give you though : spend more time on your levels because quality is better than quantity (number of releases) ; and I see you've been experimenting with a lot of people's ideas and styles recently, it's good to start off as a form of practice, but you should consider trying to think up your own original features at some point, you're probably not quite there yet, but when you will be you will realize that it feels so much more rewarding.

I noted this in the credits."To MRCK for the influence of his nightmare maps".

Guys,I would have gladly made the level better, but I'm too busy - exams soon, and I'm preparing for them Sad.And maybe after them, I'll do something like sequel of this map Wink.

Yeah I saw the reference in the txt file and was glad to be credited Smiley I was just pointing it out for RazorZ who seemed to like the effect,

and yeah if you ever make a bigger / more ambitious sequel to this map it could be awesome, because such textures and sounds definitely have potential

I have played your Rural Nigthmare map,  Smiley it had some neat effects, especially in the beginning when the Overlord appeared behind the corner - that was also of of those moments I got frightened, but as I said, it´s rare in Duke3D, I didn´t say that´s the first time.  Azn

But MRCK is right in many aspects, especially gameplay suffered from monotony at times.  Tongue And, as some of us have already mentioned, take time with your map, Sanek. No matter how many maps you have released, the quality is the key. Take a look at my topic and releases - I have only made two maps so far, but I take time and care with them (of course they are not excellent or perfect quality, but I construct them with time and care). I hope you try my method even once - I know many of us have been busy around here, but that´s our life around us, eh?  Roll Eyes
